The Legend of the Sun

"The Legend of the Sun" is the first dance production in Mongolia. The performance presents the unity of humanity through five heroes and touches on a variety of themes including the natural world and the golden teachings of motherhood. The choreographer and director of the performance was S.Sukhbaatar, a music teacher, State Prize laureate and State Honored Artist of Mongolia. The music was composed by Luvsansharav and the dance composition by B.Lkhagvasuren.

The “Altan Urag” dance production is a historical dance play about the Great Emperor Genghis Khan who united the Great Mongol Empire and founded present-day Mongolia. The work, which depicts the life and struggle of Genghis Khan from his youth to his ascension to the throne, is directed by S.Sukhbaatar, a recipient of the State Prize and State Honored Artist, with music by B.Sharav and production written by B.Lkhagvasuren, making it the first historical dance production in Mongolia.

"Mongolian Pride" is a work consisting of three dance pieces: "The Epic of Horsemen," "The Epic of Wrestlers" and "The Epic of Archers." S.Sukhbaatar combined his previous dances, "The Epic of Wrestlers" and "The Epic of Archers" into one and created the dance piece "Mongolian Pride" on the theme of Mongolia's three men's holidays.

First performed on March 14, 2010. This work was previously created as a radio play and this time, the composer and State Prize laureate B.Munkhbold, son of G.Birvaa, recreated it for the stage, in a mixed song and dance style. This is the first independent work for children. Another unique feature of the work is that the five characters—Goat, Lamb, Calf, Foal and Camel—were choreographed by five different choreographers.

The "Great Queens of Mongolia" is a dance epic that vividly presents the historical achievements of nine legendary queens in Mongolian history. The "Great Queens of Mongolia" is a unique work that not only recounts historical events but also explores and revives the traditional culture, customs, dances and music of the Mongols of that time, bringing them to life on stage.
